Movie Plot: A few years ago in South Boston, colin Sullivan, a young boy, is introduced to organized crime by Frank Cello, owner of the Irish-American mob. Over the years, Costello prepared him to become a mole inside the Massachusetts State Police. Sullivan is accepted into the Special InvestigationS unit, which focuses on organized crime. Before graduating from the State Police Academy, William “Billy Kostigan Jr. is recruited by Captain Queen and staff sergeant Dignum to go undercover, as his family ties to organized crime make him an ideal intruder. He exits the academy and spends time in jail on charges of fake assault to increase his credibility.
Everybody infiltrates into their respective target organization. Sullivan starts a romance with police psychiatrist Madlin Madden. Costigan has a season with him as a condition of his probation, and they also begin a relationship. After escaping a sting operation of Costello, each mole discovers about the existence of the other.
